Relaxing Wrinkles
BOTOX® Cosmetic, DYSPORT and Xeomin are purified proteins which relax facial muscles, effectively removing wrinkles and giving you a more relaxed youthful look. We are just oving Xeomin, known as "naked Botox" as it does not have the protective "wrapper" of Botox or Dysport. It will work in 2 days where Botox and Dysport take 7 to 10 days. We want you to look great quickly.
As we get older the muscles of the face get larger and stronger. The skin is also damaged by ultraviolet light exposure which destroys collagen and elastin (which supports the skin as its framework and allows the skin to "spring back".) This loss of support to the skin is the major cause of wrinkling. At first these wrinkles are only seen with facial expression and are called dynamic wrinkles. Over time the wrinkles become permanent and are seen with or without facial expression and are called static wrinkles. Deep static wrinkles do not respond to botox as well, although you may benefit as part of a larger treatment protocol including resurfacing of the skin or IPL.
Here is a favorite patient with over active muscles around the eyes before Botox treatment. We will treat the Obicularis Oculi which causes "crows-feet" wrinkles.

Botox and Xeomin are best used to relax muscles where the skin is wrinkling with motion. These are dynamic wrinkles and only occur with expression. Static wrinkles are permanent, which means the skin is too damaged to maintain its integrity. Here a laser peel is a great option. Botox is great for early wrinkles. Have Xeomin and a peel for the best of both worlds.
Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are best utilized to shape the brow and give a "brow-Lift" by relaxing the muscle which cause the brows to drop. We also treat "crows-feet" which are due muscles involved in squinting and smiling. Of course, we love to stop the forehead wrinkles . Other treatments include a mouth lift with a "DAO" treatment and a "Nefertitti lift" of the lower face with treatment of the Platysma.
